How do I test if my phone vibration is working?

Why does vibration not work in my browser?

The Vibration API is supported by Chrome and most Android browsers, but Safari on iPhone and iPad does not support it at all. On iOS no web page can trigger vibration, so this test will always report unsupported there.

Browsers only allow vibration after you interact with the page, and they block it entirely when the tab is in the background or the system is in a silent profile that suppresses haptics. Tap a pattern directly, with the tab in the foreground.

Is the vibration motor broken if nothing happens?

Not necessarily. Rule out software first: silent mode, Do Not Disturb, battery saver and accessibility haptic settings all suppress vibration. If calls and alarms also fail to vibrate after those checks, the motor or its connector is the likely fault.
